Domino is a popular children’s game in which players stack dominoes on end in long rows. Then they flick the first domino, which causes all of the other dominoes to fall over. Some people like to make very complex designs by stacking dominoes in curved lines or 3D structures. This activity has led to the popularity of the phrase “domino effect” in which one small action leads to many greater consequences.
Domino’s power is based on her ability to manipulate probability in her favor. She can subliminally and psionically initiate random telekinetic acts that can change the odds of an event in her favor, from flipping a coin to making a stray bullet hit just the right target. She is also a skilled marksman with various firearms and a highly trained athlete.
She is proficient in various martial arts styles and possesses an extensive background in military combat training. She is fluent in several languages and has extensive experience with improvised weaponry and explosives. She has exhibited considerable athletic prowess, and is adept at jumping and hand-to-hand combat.
In addition to her powers, Domino is a telepath with the ability to read and interpret others’ minds. She can use this ability to gather intelligence about an opponent, determine their weak points, and plan attacks against them. Domino can also amplify her natural reflexes to near-superhuman levels.
Hevesh started playing with dominoes as a child and eventually became an expert at creating mind-blowing domino designs. She creates her pieces by considering a theme or purpose, brainstorming images or words that might go with the piece she wants to build, and then designing an intricate track that will lead to the desired result. She typically uses a set of 28 dominoes, but some people have even larger sets.
As the first domino falls, its potential energy converts to kinetic energy, which gives it the energy of motion (see Converting Energy). Some of that energy is transmitted to the next domino, pushing it over. Then the next domino gets the same treatment, and so on, until all of the dominoes have fallen.
When Hevesh isn’t building tracks for dominoes, she is using them to create artistic pieces. She can create straight or curved lines, 2D grids that form pictures when they fall, and 3D structures like towers and pyramids. She is also well-versed in the rules of several different domino games, and can play a number of different variations with her friends.
While she is still trying to figure out her own place in the world, Domino has been involved in some dangerous missions for X-Force. She has clashed with the Weapon X Program’s new leader, Donald Pierce, and fought with Milo Thurman when Pierce tried to download his mind into a computer. She also fought Blockade, Chimera, and Lady Deathstrike, who had dug up Kwannon’s body and were attempting to resurrect her as Gryaznova. Afterwards, she helped Cable track down and destroy the new Weapon X Base in Florida.
