Roullete

Roulette is one of the most popular casino games in the world. It’s a game of chance that’s incredibly exciting to play. The game can be played in many different variations, and it’s almost impossible to find a casino that doesn’t have at least one roulette table on offer.

There are three main roulette variations that are played at physical and online casinos – American, European, and French. Each has a slight variation in rules that players need to be aware of. European roulette is the most popular version of the game, and it offers better winning probabilities compared to American roulette.

A roulette wheel consists of a solid wooden disk slightly convex in shape, with thirty-six metal compartments called pockets or frets on its rim. The compartments are painted alternately red and black, and numbered nonconsecutively from 1 to 36. A green compartment on the American roulette wheel carries the number 0.

Roulette tables are set up with several types of bets, and each has its own payouts. The most common bets are corner bets and six line bets. A corner bet, also known as a square bet, is made by placing chips at the point shared by four numbers on the roulette board. This bet pays 8-1 if any of the numbers win, and it pays 6-1 if the ball lands on zero or one of the two green numbers. All other bets pay 2-1. The player’s wagered chips, however, are not returned if they lose; the player’s money is still on the table.
